My work experience over the last eight years started as a clinical dietitian where I counseled inpatients and outpatients with a variety of nutritional concerns. A large portion of my time was also spent working in Cardia Rehab and in the Congestive Heart Failure clinic.
It is here where my passion for wellness and prevention grew. I knew I wanted to help people stay out of the hospital system by teaching them about wellness, good nutrition, and complementary therapies.
This lead me to become a nutritionist for a company in the natural products industry. I helped healthfood store owners support their customers through education. This is where my interest in complementary and alternative therapies further grew and developed. I researched and wrote numerous articles on health, nutrition, supplements, and alternative diets and therapies.
During this time I counseled interested members of my local YMCA with various nutritional concerns. I also continued to do home health visits, mainly for those individuals with congestive heart failure.
Today, I am a stay at home mom to a 2 and 3 year old who also works on free lance writing and counseling individuals whenever I can. In between I read everything I can get my hands on to increase my knowledge of nutrition.
